Product Overview
The Specac DC-3 Diamond Compression Cell is an essential tool for micro-spectroscopy. It utilizes two high-quality Type IIa diamonds to compress and flatten samples that are otherwise too thick or hard for standard transmission analysis. This process reduces the sample thickness to a level that allows infrared light to pass through, enabling the collection of high-quality spectra from materials like polymers, minerals, and pharmaceutical granules. The DC-3 is particularly useful for analyzing single fibers, small paint chips, and forensic evidence. Its large clear aperture and high pressure capability ensure that even the most difficult samples can be prepared in seconds. Because the diamonds are chemically inert and incredibly hard, the cell can handle a wide variety of materials without the risk of window damage or contamination
