The PIKE Press-On Demountable Cell is the definitive tool for samples that are too thick or viscous to be pumped into a standard liquid cell. For analyzing grease, heavy polymers, or solids ground into a mull, this cell allows the user to simply place a drop of sample on one window, place the second window on top, and apply uniform pressure via the screw-down holder.This technique, often referred to as a "neat" liquid measurement, provides a variable pathlength that is determined by the pressure applied and the viscosity of the sample. The cell is exceptionally easy to clean—simply wipe the two windows with solvent—making it the fastest way to analyze non-volatile liquids and pastes.
