Product Overview
The PIKE Low-Volume Heated Gas Cell is specifically engineered for "evolved gas analysis" (EGA) where keeping the gas sample concentrated and moving quickly is essential. In techniques like TGA-IR, a cell with too much volume will "smear" the chemical information, making it difficult to correlate specific weight losses with chemical species. This cell's small internal volume (typically < 5 mL) ensures that every change in the furnace is captured in the infrared spectrum with high fidelity. The entire cell and its transfer lines are heated up to 300 °C, preventing the condensation of high-molecular-weight decomposition products. The gold-coated interior provides both high energy throughput and excellent chemical resistance. This is the preferred tool for research into polymer additives, biomass pyrolysis, and pharmaceutical stability
