PIKE Beam Condensers are essential for laboratories that need to analyze very small samples—such as single fibers, tiny crystals, or trace contaminants—without the high cost of an IR microscope. These accessories use a series of specialized lenses or mirrors to "condense" the large infrared beam into a much smaller focal point. This significantly increases the energy density at the sample, enabling the collection of high-quality spectra from samples as small as 100 microns.Available in both refractive (lens-based) and reflective (mirror-based) designs, PIKE beam condensers offer flexibility for different spectral ranges. The reflective versions are particularly popular for Mid-IR and Far-IR applications as they do not suffer from the spectral cut-offs of lens materials. They include precision XY stages for sample positioning, ensuring that the micro-sample is perfectly centered in the condensed beam
