Product Overview
PIKE Polystyrene Reference Materials are the most widely recognized calibration tools in the world of FTIR spectroscopy. Polystyrene produces a series of sharp, well-defined, and highly repeatable absorption bands across the Mid-IR region. These bands are used to verify that the spectrometer's x-axis (wavenumbers) is accurately calibrated and that the instrument is achieving its specified spectral resolution.PIKE offers these films in various thicknesses (e.g., 38 µm and 75 µm) to suit different validation protocols. The films are permanently mounted in a 2 x 3" slide holder for convenient use. For laboratories operating under regulatory oversight, NIST-traceable polystyrene films are available, complete with a certificate identifying the exact peak positions for auditing purposes
