art photonics Fiber Optic ATR Probes – Standard Mid-IR Sampling

Professional fiber optic immersion probes utilizing Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) for real-time, in-situ Mid-IR analysis of liquids and pastes

Product Overview

The Art Photonics Fiber Optic ATR Probe is a versatile tool for remote infrared spectroscopy, allowing users to take the "spectrometer to the sample." By utilizing high-purity Polycrystalline Infrared (PIR) fibers, these probes facilitate evanescent wave spectroscopy in the Mid-IR range. This technology is ideal for monitoring chemical reactions in real-time within a flask, reactor, or process stream without the need for sample extraction or preparation. The probe design features a replaceable ATR crystal tip, typically Diamond, Silicon, or ZnSe, providing high chemical resistance and mechanical durability. Because ATR spectroscopy is relatively insensitive to pathlength (interacting only with the first few microns of the sample), it is the perfect solution for opaque liquids, highly absorbing aqueous solutions, and viscous emulsions that would otherwise saturate a transmission cell

Key Features

  • In-Situ Monitoring: Real-time analysis of chemical kinetics and reaction endpoints.
  • High Chemical Stability: Replaceable crystal tips (Diamond/ZnSe) resist aggressive media.
  • Remote Sensing: Standard cable lengths up to 5 meters for flexible laboratory placement.
  • No Sample Prep: Direct immersion in liquids, pastes, and gels.
  • PIR Fiber Technology: Optimized for the 4000 cm⁻¹ to 600 cm⁻¹ spectral region
