Product Overview
The PIKE Out-of-Compartment Microplate Reader is a specialized automation solution designed to extend the functionality of standard UV-Vis spectrophotometers. Unlike internal autosamplers, this reader is positioned next to or above the instrument, connected via a fiber-optic interface. This "out-of-compartment" architecture is its primary advantage, as it allows researchers to switch between high-throughput plate reading and traditional cuvette or integrating sphere measurements without the need to remove and reinstall hardware.
The system is engineered for speed and precision, capable of scanning a full 96-well plate in just 32 seconds. It is highly versatile, supporting both standard 96-well and 384-well formats, and can be adapted for the automated testing of non-standard materials like optical filters and various components. Controlled by PIKE's AutoPRO™ software, the reader integrates with major third-party UV-Vis software packages to provide a seamless workflow for drug discovery, bioassay validation, and manufacturing quality control.
Key Features
- Out-of-Compartment Design: Keeps the spectrophotometer's main compartment free for traditional accessories like cuvettes or temperature-controlled holders.
- Dual Plate Support: Accommodates standard 96-well and 384-well microplate formats for flexible high-throughput screening.
- Fast Run Times: Achieves high-speed data acquisition, reading a 96-well plate in 32 seconds and a 384-well plate in 84 seconds.
- Fiber-Optic Interface: Utilizes transfer optics and UV-Vis/NIR fiber cables to couple the external reader to the instrument optics.
- AutoPRO™ Software Control: Provides an intuitive interface for programming mapping profiles and automating complex experiments.
- Non-Plate Sampling: Can be customized to measure filters, optical components, and other solid materials automatically.
- Compact Footprint: Designed to fit on the laboratory benchtop alongside the host spectrophotometer without requiring extensive space.
